However, making videos can seem like a monumental task if you're used to watching the highly-produced content from people like Gary Veynerchuk that have entire teams dedicated to producing his content. If you've watched cooking recipes or DIY How-to videos online, you know how simple an engaging video can be to create. Present what you're going to make, the ingredients, process, and end result, all in 60 seconds or less.
Under 60 seconds at the most. If you can keep it under 30 seconds you're killing it! Think about your ingredients or props you need or how you're going to show the steps. Use hand signals to communicate to your users: The majority of videos are watched without sound, so think of other ways to communicate what the user needs to know. Many use a Hyperlapse tool, Box to store our videos, and a video stand, which you can create with something as simple as two stacks of books with a plank across.
Place your camera on the edge of the plank and fire up your camera app. You can set a 'stage' for where you're filming by taping it out on the table. Either bring them in one at a time or have them all laid out in your center stage. Start with a compelling image: Either an impressive 'finished product' to arouse interest, or some unconventional ingredients. Don't worry about it being perfect: DIY videos go viral every day. If you can tell a compelling story in a short amount of time, it doesn't matter if you shot it on your iPhone or a professional camera.

Plus, with how busy your audience is, giving them a way to passively listen to your content is fantastic for lowering the barrier of entry. However, like video, you're probably thinking you need all sorts of specialized gear and skills.
And while yes, audio is a whole other beast, you can get started with just a little bit of effort. Pick your topic or niche: If you already know your audience and your topic, this should be a no brainer. However, you'll want to find some specific niche of your topic to get people interested. Align the header connector with the pin header on the Raspberry Pi, then press down to connect the headers. Firmly push on the other side of the Voice Bonnet to snap the standoffs into place.
Push near the standoffs, not in the center of the board. Make sure the standoffs have snapped into the boards and that the pin header is pushed all the way down so that there is no gap between the two boards. Failure to securely seat the Voice Bonnet may cause electric shock, short, or start a fire, and lead to serious injury, death, or damage to property.
Grab your 2mm screwdriver and loosen the two bottom screws of the screw terminal so that you can insert the speaker wires. Take your speaker and find the red and black wires attached to it. Insert the red wire into the bottom slot of the left-most terminal and gently push it in as far as you can. Do the same for the black wire in the second terminal from the left. This is important if you plan to use this kit in other projects or expose it to the internet, but for now, it's safe to click OK. Do I need to change my password? You'll want to change the Raspberry Pi user's password if you plan on using this kit in a project that is exposed to the open internet.
It's not safe to expose it with a password everybody knows. If you plan on doing this, you'll want to use the passwd program. This is an advanced step, so for the purposes of this guide, we will assume you haven't changed the password for the Raspberry Pi user. Note If you do change the password, make sure you keep your password written down somewhere safe in case you forget. It's not easy to recover it if you change it. Using your mouse, click on the Wi-Fi connection icon at the bar at the top right of the screen.
If you have a password, a dialog will appear asking for the pre-shared key This is just a fancy way of saying password and is borrowed from the Wi-Fi security standards. Pre-shared just means the password was given to you before you attempted to connect. Enter your password here and click OK. Watch the Wi-Fi icon you just clicked on to bring up the menu. It should begin flashing.
Once it's gone solid, you are connected. You can find it by hovering over the Wi-Fi icon. To make this job easier, the computers generate a long number and present it to the extension for verification each time. The extension saves this key somewhere safe so that it can verify that the computer you're speaking to is actually the right one.
Since this is the first time your Raspberry Pi has been turned on, the data listed above this prompt is brand new, and it's safe to continue. When you answer yes here, the SSH extension will save this information to your browser and verify it is correct every time you reconnect to your Raspberry Pi.
